The Sprint Booster is a plug-n-play performance upgrade that provides improved pedal response and input sensitivity and delivers impressive off-the-line throttle acceleration performance. It's an electronic module that plugs-in between the accelerator pedal and the engine control unit (ECU) and is engineered to improve throttle response on drive-by-wire vehicles (like MINI Coopers).
Most modern vehicles have dropped conventional throttle cables for an ECM (Electronic Control Module). This system module converts how hard you push the throttle pedal into an electronic signal that provides power to the drivetrain. The ETC (Electronic Throttle Control - AKA Drive-By-Wire) typically features a delayed response on stock vehicles with pedestrian acceleration. This can cause difficulties in up-hill starts, quick gear changes and overtaking. Sprint Booster continuously measures pedal input and significantly reduces this throttle response delay for your MINI with a faster signal to the ECM. It provides crisp, on-tap acceleration for whenever the driver demands it.
