Check out this latest JCW MINI Cooper offering from German sport-tuning outfit, Manhart Racing.
First, Manhart takes the standard MINI John Cooper Works engine and gives it a full remap. The power output of the B48 2.0 liter turbocharged engine goes from 231 horsepower in standard form, to 300hp in the MINI JCW by Manhart.
The maximum torque of the new and improved powerplant goes up to 470 Newton meters. With that amount of power on tap, this MINI is expected to provide blistering acceleration with 0 to 60 mph times of less than 6 seconds. That’s faster than the 6.1 to 6.3 seconds offered by the stock 231hp version of the motor. It is unclear as of now whether the top speed of 152 mph changes at all.
With the standard 231 hp, the new MINI John Cooper Works accelerates, depending on the transmission of choice, in 6.1 to 6.3 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and reaches a top speed of 246 km/h. But with the power bump, we expect a standard sprint below 6 seconds.
Manhart has chosen to decorate their MINI JCW with a race-inspired black and yellow paint job which does little to conceal the sporting pedigree of this tuner machine. They even added their own custom wheels in yellow/gold to complete the look. But don’t be fooled by the looks, this is no poser machine. The tuning kit, included a full remap chipset, a custom exhaust downpipe and intercooler.
Manhart also fitted a leather and Alcantara interior to include front and rear seats with decorative seams in Manhart yellow, steering wheel in Alcantara, shift boot in leather and decorative stitching also in Manhart yellow.
