OK... not this type of green car, but cars like your MINI Cooper and the new slate of hybrids. Where are they most popular?
The fact is, even though San Francisco is 60% above the national average in its rated likeliness to buy a "green" car, in a city of over 3 million residents its still only buying a little over 11,000 of them. And that was the number one rated city! The following list - in order - may surprise you, but clearly the U.S. is not quite embracing driving down the green lane just yet.
Washington, D.C, New York City, Boston, San Diego, Chicago, Monterey, Honolulu, Los Angeles and Baltimore. Baltimore, at the bottom of the list, was 22% more likely than the U.S. average to purchase a green car, but the numbers are still very small compared to the number of new cars purchased overall.
But you didn't buy a MINI because it was green anyway, did you?
