MINI Top 5 Pros & Cons

There is certainly a lot to love about the MINI Cooper. For most of us, it’s love at first sight. For the rest, it’s love at first drive. But Love is definitely in the scenario somewhere. From those surveyed in the RevewCars.com MINI Cooper 2009 survey, the top 5 things to love about your MINI Cooper are:

1) Upscale interior
2) Modernized classic exterior design
3) Fit and finish
4) Peppy engine and
5) Responsive suspension

OK, so what’s not to like? According to these same responders, it was:

1) Needs a more powerful engine
2) Additional color choices
3) Higher performance sports package
4) Center speedometer is too big! and
5) the road noise at high speed is too high

The new John Cooper Works version of the Cooper S should answer numbers one and three. The JCW version of the new Convertible, features a more powerful variation of the Cooper S’s turbocharged 1.6 liter engine putting out 211 hp. It also boasts 17” alloys and bad-ass Bremco brakes.

As for number two, MINI is adding new color options all of the time, so if you don’t like your color options, wait ‘til next year. The center speedometer is too big? Seriously? Go drive a Beetle! As for road noise being too high, c’mon now… that’s all an integral part of the experience. You’re not supposed to use your cell phone when driving anyway!

Overall, the car rated a 4.6 out of 5 (4.3 performance, 4.6 exterior, 3.8 interior). That’s something to love right there!
