Ever since its launch in July 2001, MINI has played fast and loose with “special editions”. Now they’re finding that these limited runs return a higher residual value.
Remember the Checkmate? Park Lane? MINI One Se7en? They’re special edition MINIs. They’re different. Limited. Exclusive. And return, on average, a three per cent higher residual value than a standard MINI, according to industry experts.
Enter the MINI Cooper Graphite, equipped with 15-inch Rotate Spoke alloy wheels, a dark silver metallic paint outside and piano black interior. Black racing stripes and white indicator lenses complete the picture and voila – you’ve got a bigger return on your investment when you decide to sell or trade it in, as these are much sought after in the used car market.
Of course, part of the fun of owning a MINI is customizing it yourself. Make up your own “special edition” name and see how you do selling it on the open market yourself. Hey, as they say in the lottery, you never know.
