The North American International Auto Show is widely viewed as one of the most significant auto shows in the world, and ranks as one of the largest in North America. MINI has decided that it is the perfect venue to debut their all-new 2013 MINI John Cooper Works Paceman.
Fortunately for enthusiasts, MINI has leaked a handful of official photos to give audiences a feel for the vehicle prior to its official unveiling in the middle of January. From these initial images, the JCW Paceman appears to be taking some styling cues from previous JCW models like the Countryman. This special edition Paceman features exterior upgrades that include extended side skirting, and larger tailpipes, but customers are likely to be more interested in the vehicle’s performance.
The John Cooper Works Paceman features MINI’s classic 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbo, though this model is reported to enjoy added horsepower and torque over stock models thanks to special tuning. The JCW Paceman engine produces 249 horsepower and 237 pound-feet of torque; same as the JCW Countryman. However, the Paceman’s lighter body should mean even faster acceleration times.
