From the "Why Can't We Have Nice Things?" Department: This 1998 John Cooper Works-tuned Mini Cooper was on offer last month. According to the seller, this was the last owned by the late Mr. Cooper.
Of course, it's production date of 1998 means that it wouldn't be allowed here in the Excited States anyway. But it is fun to look! This very special Classic Mini features some unique items both under the hood and in the cockpit. Take note of the machined door and window handles, the machine-turned dash panels, raised John Cooper signature logo on the glove box, and special John Cooper signature gauges. There is custom upholstery all around, and don't forget the incredible detailed engine bay with carbon fiber valve cover and lots of other custom touches. Since it was allegedly owned by JC himself, we can be sure it can get out of its own way.
The vehicle was for sale at Paris, France-based dealer, My Mini Revolution. The page for the Classic Driver for sale ad no longer works, so I presume it sold, and for a pretty penny. This pedigreed performance machine only had 1,980 miles reported at the time of the listing, and purportedly £25,000 were spent just in the engine alone.
Classic Driver still has a full photo gallery for those who want to ogle.
