New spyshots from Motor Trend magazine have provided MINI enthusiasts with a clearer idea of what the company has in store for their MINI Cooper four-door hatchback.
The ambitious design achieves its two rear doors by extending the Cooper’s wheelbase which will increase legroom to accommodate rear-seated passengers. This prototype bares a resemblance to both the 2-door Cooper Hatchback and the MINI Countryman, though this vehicle sits much lower to the ground than its Countryman sibling.
Before MINI purists pass judgment on the authenticity of a four-door Cooper, remember that there were plenty of skeptics who took issue with the MINI Countryman. Detractors thought that a MINI SUV would never sell, but the Countryman is now one of MINI’s best-selling models.
