The MINI Teen Motoring School offers teenagers the opportunity get behind the wheel of a brand-new MINI Cooper, to learn safe driving techniques from experienced race car drivers. The courses are held on the grounds of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The class is just one of several programs offered by the Miles Ahead driving school, based on the grounds of the famous speedway and run by two former race car drivers, Stephan Gregoire and Ted Woerner. The Teen Motoring School provides students with education about the dangers of distracted and impaired driving and teaches them the skills to manage emergency situations that may occur in a real-world scenario.
Other programs include the MINI Performance Motoring School and the MINI Fleet Motoring School. They also offer MINI Clinics that are geared toward teen safety, and can be held anywhere that has sufficient space.
MINI is the official car of the school, based on the responsiveness and handling. MINI provides new vehicles to the program each year so that students can learn on vehicles with the most up to date safety, performance, and handling features.
