The 2008 MINI Cooper D is a 1.6L 110HP turbo diesel model that gets over 50 mpg on the highway - and can run biodiesel – but it’s currently not available in the U.S. Let's do the American thing and sign a petition to change that!
The 2008 models are now available in Europe, but as of this writing BMW refuses to bring them to the States!
It’s safe to say that any American who drives wants better fuel economy. The pain at the pump is acute and there are no real signs of a cure. Gas-guzzling vehicles not only hurt your wallet, they hurt the environment as well. The MINI Cooper D helps to ease both of these pains with terrific fuel economy a diesel particulate filter that reduces almost all diesel exhaust emissions and helps to make the MINI diesel engine one of the most environmentally friendly in its class. Throw in biodiesel, which is produced in America, and you've got yourself a dream car.
Now there is a very American way to let BMW know how much we want the MINI Cooper D.
