Those of us who watched the Super Bowl were treated to a number of clever, albeit risqué commercials. MINI’s “Cram It” ad certainly pushed the envelope in an effort to humor its viewers, however, that Super Bowl commercial represents only a small sample of the automaker’s innovative ad series. Despite shelling out exorbitant fees for Super Bowl advertising, MINI has invested significant resources in creating their own engaging guerrilla-marketing ad campaign. Take for instance their “MINI vs. Monster” video, available in 3-D. The advertisement is clearly a full-scale production, but rather than spending big dollars on primetime advertising positioning, MINI has wisely utilized social media outlets to target their younger demographic.
In tandem with the Super Bowl advertisement, MINI is using their YouTube approach to promote one of their newest product lines, the MINI Countryman. By employing CG technology in their flagship Countryman video, MINI is able to create an advertisement that displays the vehicle's full range of capabilities in a manner that is engaging and fun to watch.
