Over 60 individual MINI Coopers will gather in the parking lot of a small Rhode Island middle school to deliver hundreds of toys as part of an annual tradition organized by “MINI Makes a Difference” a Rhode Island non-profit organization.
From the meeting point in Westerly, Rhode Island the MINIs will embark on a journey throughout the region bringing toys and good will to local Toys for Tots and Children’s Wishes centers. Over the past decade, the MINI Makes a Difference group has donated over 9,000 different toys to the local community. This year they hope to top the 10,000 mark. Drawing on MINI drivers from as far away as New Hampshire and New Jersey, the bond between MINI owners is a strong one.
MINIs Make a Difference founder Steve Scales attributes the events success to, “a unique car that has unique owners.” He went on to add, “They’re people who have really big hearts.”
