MINI USA has released details regarding price and availability of the highly-anticipated MINI JCW GP (R56). Interested buyers be warned – the new JCW GP will be the most expensive model in the MINI family of cars.
The first thing customers will notice is a considerable price increase from the 2006 GP (R53). At a starting retail price of $39,950, the R56 GP is $7,000 more expensive than its predecessor. There are a few notable enhancements to the R56 including an individually adjustable coilover suspension as well as performance brakes and wheels. The MINI JCW GP will also weigh in at 2,558 pounds, 121 pounds lighter than a standard John Cooper Works Hardtop.
500 total units will be sold in the U.S. and each dealership will be given one car. Remaining JCW GP vehicles will be sold through a toll-free, with priority given to existing GP owners. The phone lines are expected to open in Mid-November
