We have been reporting a variety of spy shots that have emerged of the new, 2014 MINI Cooper over the past several weeks. There are now new photos available that feature the new hatchback without any camouflage, providing the clearest image of what consumers can expect when the vehicle becomes available over the next several months.
The photos come courtesy of Chris Doane, and have already been shared by Autoblog, Road & Track and Left Lane news. MINI fans will be pleased that the exterior of the vehicle remains true to previous installments, with minor exterior enhancements that tighten up the vehicle’s look. Some notable changes include new LED daytime running lights and an altered hood scoop (or power dome as it has been referred to). The vehicle also appears to be a bit “stockier” as well.
The most significant changes to the 2014 lie under the hood. A new, twin-turbo charged 1.5-liter inline 3-cylinder engine powers an all-new, front-wheel-drive chassis that is shared with the BMW 1 Series. All in all, we like what we see and can’t wait to see the new MINI Cooper in person!
