The new 2014 MINI Cooper boasts an all-new 3-cylinder engine and claims 34 mpg fuel economy. Of course, manufacturers are known to play it conservative or in some cases inflate their fuel efficiency numbers, so what can we really expect from the new MINI? Green Car Reports did an extended test drive with the new Cooper, and the results are quite impressive.
The team had their MINI Cooper for three days in the Northeast where they logged an impressive 615 miles. Impressively, the group averaged 42.2 mpg according to the MINI’s in dash trip comp. It would appear that MINI was underselling the new vehicle’s fuel efficiency which is a welcomed surprised. Green Car Reports also provided a review on the vehicle’s road manners and drivability, noting that the new Cooper picked up where its predecessor left off, providing ample enjoyment in a small package.
