It features a Royal Blue finish outside and inside it's awash in creamy leather and high-luster walnut veneer. They're calling it the "Rolls Royce" Edition... but can you buy one?
OK... the special edition referred to as the "Rolls Royce" Edition has been confirmed by a MINI spokesman, who said that it was created for a recent dealer event - HOWEVER - the odds of this model going into production are very slim although the interior shown here is real.
“MINI is known for successfully marketing special edition models. But for every 100 that are proposed, 99 don’t make the final cut,” the spokesman said.
This is not to be confused with the three new limited-edition models MINI is introducing to celebrate its 50th anniversary: the Mini Mayfair, the Mini Camden and the Mini John Cooper Works World Championship 50.
The Mini Camden will get 17-inch spoked alloys, a solid white roof, and is available in Midnight Black, White Silver, and Horizon Blue.
The Mini Mayfair, a little more expensive than the Camden, comes in Pepper White, Midnight Black or Hot Chocolate, and is fitted with toffee-coloured leather seats and 17-inch wheels.
The Mini John Cooper Works World Championship 50 will be finished in green with black alloys, and only 250 will be produced. Not sure if any of these will be available here in the States.
As to the Rolls Royce edition, lump this in with so many of the spy photos you come across on the Web, and wait and see. A luxury go-cart could be fun!
