They’re called the MINI Cooper Loft and MINI Stratford and they are debuting at Singapore’s MINI festival – the MINIFESTO 2010.
The MINIFESTO 2010. The name alone conjures images of people milling about exotic MINIs, having a good time. This year at the Singapore festival – and only in Singapore – two new custom MINIs will be the talk of the show.
The MINI Cooper Loft is a snappy looking little red number that develops another 2bph out of a new 1.6 liter engine, from 120bph to 122bph, but the bigger deal is all of the customization options.
The MINI Stratford is a MINI One derivative, which also includes the 1.6 liter engine, rather than the 1.4 liter in the MINI One. Again, you’re getting special door entry sills, stripes on the roof and side panels, and other small customizations that, while don’t exactly trick out the vehicles, make them at least in Singapore terms, worthy of their own special brand names.
I say try your own customization concepts and then call your MINI whatever you want. It will certainly be cheaper than the price of these two, from $101,800 for the Stratford to $112,800 for the Loft. And you'll save the airfare to Singapore, too.
