Motor trend magazine’s crack investigative team has provided photographs of the latest MINI Clubman prototype out on test in California.
The six-door (four passenger, plus the split cargo doors in the back) model cuts a sleek profile, with a long wheelbase and roofline, and low-slung chassis typical to the MINI range.
It does not appear to be a Cooper Works version, but there is hope that it will be available in the higher performance “S” model, and perhaps even in the “ALL4” all wheel drive version as well.
The four-door Clubman is quite similar to the two-door models that have been available in previous years. There does not appear to be a Clubman model on offer at the moment, based on a quick perusal of the MINI USA website.
This fits right in with BMW Group board member Peter Schwarzenbauer’s announcement late last year that MINI will be focusing on five models this year, including the Clubman wagon.
The four-door Clubman was first spotted as a concept vehicle, revealed ahead of the Geneva auto show in February of 2014.
