MINI has again proven that they are one of the premier lifestyle vehicles on the market today. In a press release, they have announced a partnership with California-based surfboard maker Channel Islands to produce a MINI-based surfboard, designed to trade on the two companies' "enthusiasm for an unconventional, individual lifestyle."
The surfboard was designed at the Channel Islands factory in Santa Barbara, CA. Christopher Weil, Head of Exterior Design at MINI, and pro surfer Kalani Robb, also a MINI owner, led the design team. Robb says, "For a long time I’d been wanting to create a board that would give me as much fun on the water as my MINI does on the road. To create this feeling of agility and speed, we’ve developed a board with a little extra tail volume. The board’s wider outline and low rocker really make it fly.”
Of course, as with most things MINI, the board can be custom tailored to the buyers specification. Just about any MINI color is available along with rally stripes, or any other color scheme you can imagine. Additionally, the board can be purchased in a variety of sizes through the Channel Islands online shop, starting in June of 2015.
