The long-awaited 2014 MINI Cooper Hardtop made its debut at the LA Auto Show this week, wowing onlookers with its new styling and features.
We’ve shared several spy shots and camouflaged glimpses of the Cooper, but these are the first clear images made available of the new vehicle, and we’re pretty impressed. Perhaps the most notable change to the vehicles exterior comes by way of a new front overhang which houses a pair of fog lights. Opinions on the addition vary, but we feel that the new face gives the vehicle a more aggressive, sporty appearance.
The base MINI Cooper will be powered by a 1.5 liter, three-cylinder engine rated at 134 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. A turbo-charged 2.0 liter engine is mated to the MINI Cooper S, and it has seen a modest power increase, boasting 189 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque.
