Car & Driver has just released spy photos for the 2014 MINI.
Early expectations rumor the new 3rd gen models will include the usual hatchback, convertible and a wagon-esque model like the Clubman, as well as roadster and coupe versions. Countryman is also rumored for in the plans for a 2014 model update as well.
BMW has shifted the new model designs to a new lead designer, so it will be interesting to see what changes and updates will sprout under new direction.
For starters, a new "FFA" front-wheel-drive platform will be a featured update to vehicles and is a platform that is shared on a number of other smaller BMW models soon-to be released as well.
Engine options are said to include BMW's 3-cylinder 200HP turbocharger (petrol and diesel versions) for use on with the likely 'S' models. Transmission offerings will be the usual - options for both manual and automatic. Plans for an electric or hybrid MINI are unknown at this time.... Stay tuned!
