This week, I bring you another entry into the "Don't Try This At Home" category. This nutty Dad takes a brushless motor out of a radio controlled race car and installs it into his daughter's toy MINI Cooper.
The hot-rodding father figure is Richard Whelan, who lives in the Northwest of England, and likes to tinker with remote control stuff and make videos.
The mini-MINI just wasn't fast or agile enough for Whelan's young daughter. It kept getting stuck in the grass and since it was only driven by one wheel, it had a tendency to go in circles.
So, Whelan took matters into his own hands. He swapped in a more powerful electric motor from the remote control car, and the result is one fast kiddie-mobile. He even posted this video to show how it was done. It sure looks like the parents and kids are having quite a bit more fun in the now souped-up Cooper. Though, apparently not everyone is as amused as Whelan and his kids.
